Spirit Circuits, a UK based company, will produce integrated circuits at the factory it will build in Craiova, Industrial Park II, where it acquired 2.3 hectares of land. Until the construction is completed, the company plans to rent a hall to train future employees, namely 260 people, especially young people.
Spirit Circuits representatives signed yesterday, September 2, the contract to acquire an area of 2.3 hectares of land in Craiova Industrial Park, in order to build the integrated circuit plant, which will last, according to the director of the company, Steve Driver (photo left) for about a year. “Yesterday was an exciting day because the land contract was signed. Our intention is that in the next three years we create 260 new jobs in Industrial High Tech Park. We will build from scratch and we aim to create opportunities for young people to work in this industry. The logistics here in Craiova are perfect for us, “said Steve Driver, Spirit Circuits Manager, at a press conference held at the Craiova City Hall.
According to Mayor Lia Olguţa Vasilescu, the company is already in talks to rent a hall from one of the companies that already exist on our market to prepare their employees until it has the proper construction in the Industrial Park. “The good news is that hiring will be done sooner than initially expected,” said Craiova.
In turn, the manager of Craiova Industrial Park, Marin Nicoli, talked about the firm’s profile, which will create printed circuits and the employment of young people here. “(…) Before finalizing the investment, the company will generate the first jobs, on the premise that the workforce must be prepared in advance. In Craiova we have intelligent people, able to learn to produce printed circuit boards for electronics, for an industry that, for many years, was the pride of Craiova. The plates made by Spirit Circuits equip locomotives, planes and especially automotive, “said Marin Nicoli, the manager of the Industrial Park. “We talked about starting production about a year ago, in the idea of the young people entering these machines and the automatic production lines of printed circuit boards that support electronic parts, the little ones you find in mobile phones in automotive computers. These lines will be driven by capable young people, high school graduates, of course, who will have the necessary skills to operate in the industrial processing line, “Nicoli said.
