I am proud to present you the company Ro Software House, a 100% Romanian company and few thoughts shared with us by the owner of the company.
Was founded in 2002 and had as purpose the application of new technologies to improve business for partners and clients. The logo under which was long promoted is “RoSoftwareHouse – Technologies for tomorrow’s world”. The company has Romanian capital and since the beginning of 2002 was enrolled in the register of companies producing computer programs (software). During the almost 16 years of activity, the company has diversified the activity, but remained faithful to its original purpose, implementation of the latest hardware and software technologies to customers and partners, in order to increase their business productivity and safety. Developed a technical department which consists in a team of professionals, engineers, graduates of the Faculty of Automation and Computer Engineering from Craiova University, having as well loyal customers in Romania and in Italy . First solutions, innovations developed were addressed to companies of transport of passengers and merchandise. Was designed and produced a system of safety and logistics with satellite tracking, continuously improved over the years. Also, was designed an operational central of tracking vehicles (software and hardware) AVL Tracking Center successfully implemented both in Romania and Italy. An other great prodcust designed and implemented to clients was ACCFA “Acounting for all”, an ERP systems (Enterprise Resource Planning) software for managing all activities of a company in Romania. One of very important clients include Dumagas SA, Romanian joint stock company with a turnover of more than 80 millions EUR. Entire management information system is managed with RSH product, ACCFA supporting audits made by large companies such as PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young.
Since the beginning one of the areas of interest for Ro Software House has been developing applications in the field of security and safety. In connection with this created one sub department, service department specifically for implementing CCTV surveillance and security solutions (alarm, access control, fingerprint). In order to support the clients needs has created a program for managing multiuser / multiclient AlarmManager. For major targets located over large areas has created events management system, Zone-Monitor, a system designed to allow interfacing with different hardware products, but unified under a single management platform.
As conclusion, the company still strongly believes in the mission to discover and implement “Technologies for Tomorrow’s World”.
You are representing a company with a lot of experience on the Romanian business market. What are the biggest challenges? What about the advantages of working in Romania?
The biggest challenges are to fight the out dated mentalities of the area, to find skilled labor work and to face a poor market in all sectors of activity. The advantages of working in Romania are the reduced taxes towards most European countries, the opportunity to participate in the development projects of the region and not only, the whole country being in development.
If you would have the power to change something in the local business environment, what would be those things? What are the shortcomings of the local community? Representatives of multinationals mentioned the infrastructure.
I would encourage public / private partnerships and new, lighter and cheaper forms of credit solutions from the banking area. Banking products in Romania are more expensive than other European countries, unfortunately.
Your company has a branch in Italy. Can you tell us more? Why did you open a branch abroad?
The poor market in Romania and the small purchasing power made me open a branch abroad and look for opportunities outside of Romania. The foreign market has provided me and continues to offer development opportunities, opening and enlarging borders for the scope of activity and financial stability.
You have won the Excellence Trophy for the 1st position in the top of the successful companies made by Dolj County Chamber of Commerce and Industry for 5 consecutive years. What propelled you to get this award?
Keeping track of the goals. Not the prize was the stake, but the achievement of the goals as well as possible.
Do you recommend Romania and especially the Oltenia region to foreign investors?
Yes, I recommend Romania and I recommend the Oltenia area more than other areas because of the more attractive opportunities. A “new generation” with a very high potential, a strong university environment, even if less publicized, the industrial tradition of Craiova, infrastructure investment projects that will be surely realized.
What types of activities or investments are available for the area, from your point of view?Investments in agriculture and processing of agricultural products, investment in construction of machines and vertical industries and real estate opportunities.
What do you think about the types of investments that Romania should attract? Small and Medium Enterprises or Multinational Companies?
For long periods of time, it is preferable to attract small and medium-sized enterprises in spite of multinationals companies that concentrate a large number of staff but which pose a high risk of unemployment in the event of a decision to relocate or in case of market fluctuations. We will not fail to say that the presence of multinationals is important because they manage to put Romania on the economic map of Europe in a rapid way and at this moment we need this.
I hope that who will visualize this interview and website will have the curiosity to keep searching information about Romania, about Oltenia region, as well and will mobilise their forces to visit us here and take local pulse to initiate business in Romania.
